What happens when your childhood home goes to ruins, and the only way to rebuild it is by entering a forbidden forest? If you’re two naive sheep siblings named Baa and Moo, you pack up and head straight into the woods!
There’s just one massive catch: Goro, a notoriously clever and hungry wolf, lives in the deepest parts of this wilderness. He’s already set up deceptive traps and searchlights to catch clueless prey like you. To survive the perilous journey and gather your building materials, you two have made a desperate pact—and tied yourselves together with a heavy rope so nobody gets left behind.
It’s a race against the clock. Will you return home with enough straw, wood, and stone, or will you end up on Goro’s dinner plate?
The Mechanics: How You Play
Forget your typical independent platformer movement. In EscapeTheWolf, teamwork is literally forced upon you through our Tether System.
- Shared Physics, Shared Consequences: Since Baa and Moo are permanently tied by a rope, every single step you take pulls, drags, or limits your partner. You cannot advance alone.
- Dynamic Puzzle Solving: You must coordinate your momentum perfectly to jump over sudden falling trees, dodge rolling logs, and trudge through heavy mud. Some heavy obstacles, like pulling stones onto pressure plates, actively require the combined tension of your rope.
- Brave the Dark Mode: As night falls in the deeper levels, the screen goes pitch black. Your only saving grace is the small light attached to your bodies. You must stay physically close to each other to illuminate the environment, reveal hidden paths, and spot collectibles before the timer hits zero.
Game Features & Levels
- The Tether System: Experience unique physics-based puzzle solving where your greatest tool—and your biggest obstacle—is the rope between you.
- Dynamic Obstacles: Progress through 9 increasingly difficult levels featuring falling trees, moving logs, muddy terrains, explosive gas traps, and cooperative weight puzzles.
- Dark Mode Challenges: Navigate intense final levels shrouded in complete darkness, relying solely on your shared light and precise communication to survive.
- Two Endings: Snatch all the materials and escape to build your dream house (Good Ending), or run out of time and let Goro wake up for a sheep buffet (Bad Ending).
Controls
One keyboard, two players. Sit tight, communicate clearly, and try not to scream at each other.
